As the most valuable perfume in the world, Amouage has its roots in the Sultanate of Oman. Their perfume creation process is never quick. It involves years of patience and hard work. The gold decorations on the beautiful bottles are handmade. Amouage uses original ingredients from Oman – silver frankincense, myrrh, and buhsan. Today, as in ancient times, the precious resin from the frankincense tree is hand-harvested by a select group of shepherds. Amouage utilizes the essence of a very rare flower (Omani buhsan), which blooms for a short period each year in the remote mountains of Oman.
